Sonic Blobs
The sonic blobs are soft interactive sound objects suspended on elastic, whereby on touch or squeeze a sound is activated. These were first created during a residency with early years arts organisation, Magic Acorns.

Inspired by the shape and texture of a piece of driftwood found during the first day of the residency, the soft objects are constructed from several oval pieces of fabric. These were made Interactive audibly through the use of conductive thread and physically, through their suspension from the ceiling on long lengths of elastic.
When squeezed, flung and pinged they activated sounds captured from the residency including field recordings of the beach and instruments used within the sessions. These objects supported the connection of movement and vocalisation, invited opportunities to co-create music and encouraged curious, creative play.
